Solar Photo Voltaic Endorsement Program
URC, under its predecessor the Seychelles Energy Commission, established the Solar PV Endorsement Program (SPVEP) for suppliers and installers in 2017, aiming towards higher efficiency and better quality of solar PV products and installations in Seychelles.
URC works towards ensuring that a certain minimum set of skills and quality is practised in the use of PV technology. The programme confirms compliance of products with the technical standards and, furthermore, envisages that endorsed PV suppliers and installers will gain increased credibility and marketing value.
Becoming an endorsed supplier or installer
Those interested in becoming Solar PV system suppliers or installers — or both — are welcome to obtain the application form and join a dynamic market promoting renewable energy in Seychelles. The application forms and other requirements to qualify for the endorsement procedure can be requested by email to info@urc.sc.
Why endorsement matters
Only registered suppliers and installers are eligible to apply for registration of PV systems, and for existing and future promotional schemes for PV such as the PV rebate, VAT exemption, and SEEREP / SME loan schemes. Importers may add new products throughout the year, but must submit them for approval prior to importation along with proper supporting documents.
