The aims of this Act is to foster good governance through enhancing transparency, accountability, integrity in public service and administration, participation of persons in public affairs including exposing corruption, to recognise the right of access to information envisaged in Article 28 of the Constitution and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
In accordance with Section 7 (1) of the Access to Information Act 2018, all public bodies are required to designate an Information Officer (IO) whose main responsibility will be to process requests for information from the public.
